	XBRL is the new standard for digital reporting. The standard allows for automated creation and processing of financial and business reporting in various sectors and industries. Quoted companies file their reports in XBRL and make them publicly available. Private companies are producing reports for tax agencies and various others. Subsidiaries produce XBRL reports for the benefit of local authorities and for corporate reporting. All this information is there to be leveraged from by corporate controllers, information brokers, financial analysts, credit managers, regulatory bodies, tax agencies and numerous other individuals and institutions. You only need to load the reports in a database system for further analysis and reporting.

	Semansys has developed the XBRL Integrator for those who want to receive and use the digital reports in XBRL known as Instance Documents. The Integrator supports the conceptually simple, but technically complex, process of transforming the exchange format XBRL into practical information in a database. It is designed to be used in virtually any technical environment, and to run automatically, entirely without any manual assistance. The Integrator is your operator who is dedicated to processing incoming data, and to making information available for your convenience.

	Supporting existing architectures	[top]
	The straightforward implementation of the Integrator involves mapping of XBRL information elements to the data structure of multiple existing databases and data warehouses. The system can be used to update any combination of standard relational database such as Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Informix and Sybase. The Integrator uses standard database connectivity facilities. Once configured, the system will work quietly in the background while ensuring quality, reliability and accuracy in your financial information supply chain.

	Extensive checking and validation	[top]
	In order to assure the quality of your data repository, the Integrator can perform a large number of validations and checks. The validation process - customized to fit your specific needs - can include: XML validation; to check XML syntax. XBRL taxonomy validation; using more than 140 validation points to ensure compliance of the taxonomy to the appropriate specification of XBRL, either 2.0 or 2.1. XBRL instance validation; applying more than 150 validations on the instance documents to ensure compliance of the report itself. Content validation; evaluation of business rules to check the completeness and correctness of the financial or business data.

	Database mapping	[top]
	Once validated, the data is used to update a database. The integrator provides an extensive mapping facility to ensure that the data is stored in the appropriate locations. Once the mapping is defined, the Integrator can do its job unattended. Alternatively, through using the various other components of Semansys Digital Reporting Solutions, a database structure can be created, maintained and updated automatically. By doing so, the user of the data can utilize the entire structure and richness of the XBRL document, independent of any existing data structures.

	Once configured, the Integrator can run continuously while waiting reports to arrive. Also it can be applied to process batches of reports. A process monitor will provide feedback on the progress made. The event handler will log all operations for auditing purposes.

	The Integrator can automatically file and store validated reports in an XML database, in its original shape. This allows the receiving organization, such as regulators, to adhere to legal requirements, to provide feedback to preparers or to process the document for other uses.

	Use Semansys XBRL Integrator Business Edition as your user-based solution for processing reports. Choose the Enterprise Edition as part of your server based reception infrastructure. The Integrator is a component of Semansys XBRL-based Regulatory Reporting Solution. Semansys XBRL Integrator runs on any standard configuration of Windows 95 and up. The Integrator supports XBRL 2.0 and 2.1 through two separate versions.
